I have had personal experience with both CBT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, tapping, but I never stuck with them for very long for lasting positive help.
Now I have recently decided to combine them together, using an outdated happy planner turned into a journal.
( I am not a therapist or professional)
I start by writing automatic negative thoughts in my journal, rating my beliefs in it from 0 to 10. Then I start tapping on karate chop, even though (I have this negative thought) I love and accept myself as God does.
Then after one round, go back to the thought then rate it. It should go down, but if it does not, try rewording your automatic negative statement.
My best results are with chocolate cravings. I have one package of chocolate kisses with two servings that I bought it on purpose to tap on, eating only half and saving the rest for the next day. This is something I would have found impossible for me to do before.
But I did it yesterday and even put two kisses back in the package. Today I tapped 5 kisses and have 5 left.
I suggest you try this if you have a craving and usually eat a whole package of candy.
Writing statements and the rating down helped me a lot. I will let you know how it goes.
My goal is to lose 30 to 40 lbs.
I also found a book on healthy eating habits. You adopt one new habit a week. I plan on adopting 4 of these multiple habits.
I started eating 4 times a day but didn’t lose weight. Now I decided to eat only 3 times a day and not overeat.
I want to lose weight for more energy and to feel better.
